What Do We Do?

Monthly Photography Competitions: We conduct 11 Digital comps and 6 Print comps between January and November each year. All comps have set subjects. Digital comps are remotely judged. Print comps are live judged at monthly club meetings. Competitions are open only to financial club members.

Monthly Photography Outings: Most months we organise a photo shoot outing to a local or regional location. There is usually a morning/afternoon tea and/or lunch stop on a "pay-your-own-way" basis. All members are invited and car pooling is usually available.

Annual Photography Retreat: Usually 5 (week) days away staying in a rented holiday accommodation (usually a house or apartments. Numbers may be limited due to the availability of accommodation. Meals are self-catered and transport is by car pooling. Costs are shared - we try to keep them under $250 all inclusive (excluding personal spending money) for the week. In recent years, we've had retreats to the Bunya Mountains, Stanthorpe & the Granite Belt (including Autumn Leaves in Tenterfield), Norfolk Island (12 days, guided tour), the Sunshine Coast, Boonah/Lake Moogerah, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Caloundra, Burrum Heads and Bargara. We have a great time - both photographically and socially.

Facebook Group: Our Club has Facebook Group through which we conduct online activities including Photo Challenges. The group is for current financial and past Members ONLY!

Interclub Activities: Each year we organise or participate in interclub activities with other clubs in the Wide Bay region. These activities include the Annual Interclub Night with Gympie Camera Club and photography safaris with regional clubs.
